Round SEVEN : It’s RAC Again
The final round of the 2022/23 PSL Season took place tonight, three matches which decided the destination of the title and places in next year’s Premier Division.
With table-toppers Pontefract sitting this round out, the title was in RAC’s hands as they travelled to Nottingham knowing that any sort of win would see them claim their second consecutive PSL title.
The team duly delivered, with Nele Gilis and Daryl Selby putting the visitors two up before Nottingham debutant Tong Tsz-Wing beat England #1 Sarah-Jane Perry in five games. Kiwi Paul Coll secured the victory – and the title – as he came from two games down to beat Nick Matthew.
Elsewhere Alba Storm beat Crawley 3-1 to finish second in the table, and St George’s won 3-1 away to Birmingham Lions.
The top five teams in the table are set to feature in next season’s Premiership, with the bottom two – Nottingham and Birmingham – joining the Championship with new entrants.
