PSL Round Six, a good day to travel

It’s a top of the table clash in Group A as runaway leaders Duffield visit just-about-second Oxford, and CB expects the gap to grow with Nick Matthew celebrating his return to world number one (well, tomorrow but he can have a pint tonight surely) as he leads Duffield to a maximum-pointer.

Meanwhile Nottingham look set to leapfrog Oxford into second place as they garner enough points in a 3-2 defeat away to a Birmingham University side egged on by another capacity crowd.

In Group B Winchester will welcome home Ong Beng Hee from his Detroit triumph, but he’ll be too busy taking bids for his new Rolex to contribute to team success, leaving Exeter to go home with a 3-2 win to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.

St George’s will stay in touch too, 4-1 looks a good bet for them away to Chichester, while leaders and champions Surrey will take no prisoners at Bristol and may even take full points to extend their lead.

So that looks like four nailed-on away wins with a chance that Nottingham could make it five …  feel free to differ !

VERDICT:  Crystal Ball goes to bed happy, having predicted four certain away wins and one possible, which came about thanks to Eddie C’s comeback from 0-2 and 7-10 … CB owes you a pint, Eddie …
